Smile!

I was thrilled when local photographer Chris Pouget asked me to be in his blog. Chris is featuring people of Tofino in his blog and has taken on the lofty task of featuring 365 people! In a town with so many talented and interesting people I was very excited to be a part of it! That is Chris setting up for taking the photos above. For more information on Chris, his blog and the wide variety of photography services he offers go here.

We are off tomorrow to the 100 mile Fleece and Fibre Fair in Parksville just outside of Coombs. We will be bringing Indigo Moon with us so be sure to stop by and see all the lovely hand dyed yarn from Gabriola Island. The show goes from 9:30 - 3:00 at the Bradley Centre. Sandy will be joining me and bringing a variety of her hand dyed, hand spun yarns and finished objects made from her own yarn as well. The shop will be open so if you are in Tofino be sure to stop by and say hi to Faye!

Knitscene and Interweave are here!

Looking for some summer inspired projects? Look no further! The new Knitscene and Interweave Knits have arrived! Come and check out these two great magazines that are full of great projects to keep you inspired over these warmer months.

We were also sad to learn today that the Victoria FibreFestival has been cancelled for this year. So unfortunately we will not be going to Victoria in June! The festival has only been cancelled for this year however so we are looking forward to the 2012 festival!

We are heading to Coombs/Parksville next Sunday May 29th for the 100 Mile Fleece and Fibre festival. If you are close by be sure to come by and say hi! We will be bringing a variety of Indigo Moon yarn with us! It will take place at the Bradley Centre, 975 Shearme Rd, Parksville (turn off the Port Alberni Highway one mile east of Coombs). Hope to see you there!

More Kits

If you haven't been to our shop in a little while you may not know that we are now carrying needle felting kits. These handy little kits come with everything you need to make some great west coast animals! We started with a grey whale kit and an orca kit but now there are some new additions! We now have an octopus kit and a black bear kit to round out the collection. These great little animals are the perfect rainy day project or sunny patio day!

It's a month until the Edge to Edge marathon and the Knits by the Sea team have been gearing up! We are very excited to be participating and are looking forward to running. Are you participating in the marathon? Be sure to stop by the shop and say hi while visiting Tofino or Ucluelet for the weekend!

Thank you!!

It was so wonderful to see so many familiar faces on Sunday. Thank you to everyone who came out to help us celebrate our One Year Anniversary! We are so lucky to have so many wonderful people supporting our little yarn shop.

And when we didn't think we could be any luckier Stacey gave me the quilt that is pictured above. Stacey managed to organize a group of wonderful people to knit up squares and then Dan quilted them all together! I am so touched by this beautiful quilt words cannot express my gratitude. Thank you to Stacey, Dan, Mary, Angela, Carol, Penny, Kathryn, Faye, Seija, Heather and Erin for this beautiful gift. It is something I will cherish forever.
